Expert-Led Pilates Teacher Training at Pilates House Lemont

We are so excited to announce that Pilates House Lemont is growing into a space for future Pilates instructors to grow, learn, and build confidence through movement education.

We’re honored to host The Lab Pilates Teacher Training, a comprehensive Mat + Reformer Pilates instructor training program designed to bridge the gap between classical Pilates foundations and contemporary movement science. The program was created by Holly Swanson and Jacquelyn Brennan, who collectively bring decades of experience in Pilates education, corrective exercise, movement, and mentorship. More Than a Certification

The Pilates industry is growing rapidly, but quality education matters. Many aspiring instructors today are looking for programs that go deeper than memorizing choreography — they want to truly understand bodies, movement patterns, modifications, programming, and how to teach safely and confidently.

That’s one of the reasons we decided to partner with The Lab.

The program combines:

  • Classical Pilates principles

  • Contemporary movement education

  • Anatomy and biomechanics

  • Hands-on teaching practice

  • Mentorship and real-world application

The Lab is bringing the Lemont community a mini version of their comprehensive certification, this training includes Mat, Reformer, Magic Circle, and Spine Corrector training, along with observation hours, teaching hours, and self-practice.

Their philosophy emphasizes creating adaptable, knowledgeable instructors who can work with a wide variety of clients — not just teaching choreography, but understanding why movement matters. (The Lab Pilates Teacher Training)

Why We Chose The Lab

We deeply value intentional movement, individualized instruction, and creating a supportive environment where people feel seen and empowered.

That mission aligns beautifully with The Lab’s approach to teacher education.

What stood out to us most:

  • A strong focus on mentorship and continued support

  • Integration of anatomy, pelvic health, corrective exercise, and movement science

  • Emphasis on practical teaching experience

  • A balanced approach between classical and contemporary Pilates

  • A collaborative, community-driven learning environment

Taylor (Founder of Pilates House Lemont) and a few of our instructors are Lab trained instructors, so naturally, this felt like the perfect fit for our community.

A Training Designed for Real-Life Teaching

One of the biggest gaps in many fitness certifications is confidence.

Knowing exercises is one thing. Learning how to:

  • cue effectively,

  • modify for injuries,

  • build intentional programming,

  • manage different bodies in a room,

  • and create safe, effective sessions

…is something entirely different.

The Lab’s program includes extensive observation, self-practice, and teaching hours specifically to help future instructors develop those real-world teaching skills. (The Lab Pilates Teacher Training)

Hosting Training in a Small Studio Setting

One thing we love about hosting this program at Pilates House Lemont is the intimate studio environment.

Our studio was intentionally designed with only six reformers to allow for:

  • more individualized attention,

  • stronger instructor-to-student connection,

  • deeper learning,

  • and a welcoming, non-intimidating atmosphere.

Teacher training can feel overwhelming at times — physically, mentally, and emotionally. We want our space to feel supportive, collaborative, and grounded throughout the process.

Who Is This Training For?

This program may be a great fit for:

  • Current Pilates enthusiasts wanting to teach

  • Fitness instructors looking to expand their knowledge

  • Dancers, yogis, and movement professionals

  • Healthcare or wellness professionals

  • Anyone passionate about movement and helping others feel better in their bodies

You do not need to have years of teaching experience to begin. A willingness to learn, practice, and stay curious goes a long way.
