Inside Perinatal Pilates (Part One): Lateral Hip Strength

A lot of our prenatal/postpartum mamas know that we are always working the hips in Perinatal Pilates class. Why?

As baby grows, the demand on your pelvis/hips changes… that’s why we focus on strengthening the lateral hips.

Lateral hip strength can support everyday movements like:

  • Walking

  • Standing on one leg (putting on pants!)

  • Getting up and down

  • Climbing stairs

  • Changing positions

For women who may be experiencing discomfort with everyday movements, building strength and stability through the hips can be one piece of the puzzle in helping everyday movements feel more supported.

Join us on Mondays at 4:30pm for Perinatal Pilates class. Book your class here.
